About Us

Our Mission

Our mission is to power patient-centred, provider-led, multi-stakeholder data platforms that improve care and strengthen health-system performance.

Our Vision

We envision a world where connected, trusted data enables providers and health systems to deliver better care, improve system performance, and meet the needs of every patient.

History & Experience

International Foundations
Populus has unparalleled experience in the design and deployment of sustainable, nationally integrated health-information-system platforms across Caribbean nations. These systems support individual care, public-health activities, and administrative functions across entire countries.

Across these national deployments—and through our work in more than 20 countries—Populus has established a strong reputation for delivering and sustaining large-scale, standards-based health-data infrastructure in diverse clinical and policy environments.

Standards and Classification Systems at the Core
Populus’ technology is built on widely adopted data standards and clinical classification systems. From the outset, our platforms have been designed to structure, normalize, and classify clinical information consistently across settings.

This standards-centered approach enables high-quality data to move safely between systems, support clinical and research activities, and maintain integrity across hospitals, clinics, community care, and research environments. It is the core capability that underpins Populus’ growing platform deployments across North America.

Advancing Health-System Data
Populus collaborates with major health organizations, academic medical centres, and life-sciences partners on initiatives that require reliable data exchange, strong governance, and enterprise-grade security. These collaborations have shaped our platform’s ability to support provider-owned registries, clinician-led research, and large-scale real-world evidence programs.

Our Platform Today
The Populus platform works alongside major clinical information systems (CIS) and enables:

  • secure, standards-based exchange of clinical data
  • structured registry and research workflows
  • consistent use of clinical terminology and classifications
  • generation of trusted, provider-controlled insights

Rather than replace enterprise CIS platforms, the Populus platform complements and extends them, providing the standards-driven data layer required for registries, real-world evidence, analytics, and connected-care environments.

How We Work
Populus operates in the complementary layer around enterprise CIS systems. We support interoperable data exchange across organizations, enable provider-owned registry and research programs, and help health systems create reliable, connected, standards-aligned data environments—without disrupting clinical workflows or requiring system replacement.

Our Commitment
Populus partners with health-system, research, and life-sciences organizations across North America and internationally to support evidence-driven care, connected data environments, and sustainable real-world evidence and registry infrastructure. Our commitment is to help health systems unlock the full value of their information resources and advance high-quality, data-enabled care.

Executive Leadership & Governance

Populus is guided by an experienced leadership team and a governance structure designed to support the expansion of our connected health-data platforms across North America and internationally. Our Board is chaired by Francis McGuire, former CEO of publicly traded Major Drilling Group International, whose experience scaling Atlantic Canadian companies globally aligns with our mission to build a world-class health-tech company from this region. Our executive team brings deep experience delivering connected health-data systems in more than 20 countries, supporting major health organizations, academic medical centres, and leading companies across the life-sciences sector. Our core competency is data standards and classification systems that enable providers, health systems, and life-sciences partners to access connected, high-quality data—exchanging information with major clinical information systems across North America and grounded in expertise gained through designing and supporting nationally integrated CIS platforms across the Caribbean, where Populus has established a sustained market-leadership position.
